About the event
Police Defensive Tactics is a 16 hour TCOLE training course designed to optimize grappling skills for controlling resisting and combative subjects while reducing injury risk to both officer and suspect.
This course focuses on the core concepts and principles of positional dominance, working angles, base and structure, and understanding the difference between contact and connection. Officers learn how to break down complex combative encounters into isolated skill sets and then pressure-test those skills against resistant opponents to ensure retention and real-world application.
